MATCH REPORT – Chester Le Street GOLF CLUB 24th August 2021

With the threat of wet weather clearing the eight members were hopeful
for a dry if not sunny afternoon ahead of us.
Surprisingly, the sun began to shine and waterproofs and jumpers
disappeared into the golf bags with bare arms (and some bare knees)
being the order of the day.
As ever the course was in tip top condition. For such a friendly club it
was surprising how many single players were on the course; which we
duly allowed to play through.
The afternoon was finished off with drinks in the bar followed by the
customary steak pie, a mountain of chips, an avalanche of peas and a
tsunami of gravy. Darren Smith should have been awarded a special
prize for eating all his chips.
As expected on such a well prepared course some reasonable
scorecards were handed in with Darren Smith coming third on 28
points, Mike Storer second on 30 and Robin Down winning with 33
points.
Another good day was had by all which was only marred by the lack of
playing members.

The winner is behind the camera 🙂
