What a good day for the Liberal Golf Society’s last golf match of the
season.
The weather was warm and sunny with very little wind, what could go
wrong?
As covid had stricken two member, our numbers were reduced to 10
but this only encouraged us; as the fewer players the more change of
winning!
The course of just over 6,000 yards was in good condition although
very dry and there was a tricky gully that criss-crossed the course
made for interesting play.
Due to staff shortages the club was unable to offer us an individual
choice of refreshments so we settled down to home made mince pie,
chips and peas followed by meringue roulade and cream.
The draw for the Foursomes was made after the meal with Stephen
Sullivan (on 41 pts) and Dave Cramond (on 35 pts) taking the honours.
Dave has now won this trophy for three consecutive years!
Dave Cramond also won the putting competition with a score of 32 over
the course’s 18 holes.
Another good day was had by all which again was only marred by the
lack of playing members.
